Caplan spearheaded the push to have New Haven declared the Pizza Capital of United States by US Rep Rosa DeLauro at the US Capitol in Washington D.C. on May 22, 2024 and preceded by having CT Governor Ned Lamont declare it on National Pizza Day on Feb. 9, 2024. The Pizza Files provides saucy stories about pizza culture, history, families, recipes and lore, feeding the growing national interest in this subject.
